Education Award From Preservation Texas

On October 30th, Preservation Texas held their Honor Awards Ceremony at the Historic Scottish Rite Hall in downtown San Antonio. This award ceremony was to honor those who have put in so much dedication and effort to preservation across the state – whether its through education, restoration or rehabilitation.

Texas Tejano was honored to have our Founder/President, Mr. Rudi R. Rodriguez, receive the Mirabeau B. Lamar Education Award.

This award honors an individual Texan who has made significant contributions to historic preservation education through teaching, programming, or public engagement in a school or community setting. The award recognizes efforts that have meaningfully increased understanding or awareness of historic preservation principles, practices, or history among students or the public.

It was a wonderful evening filled with networking, light refreshments, and amazing people who share similar missions.

Texas Tejano is honored to see one of our own recognized with such a meaningful award. This recognition reaffirms that our continued hard work and dedication to preserving Native Tejano heritage is making a real impact across our Lone Star State.

Thank you all for your continued support, because without you, we would not be where we are today! Here’s to many more years of championing Native Tejano heritage.
