2011 Tejano Heritage Month Student Contest

The Tejano Heritage Month Student Contest is a part of the many activities conducted annually to bring awareness and education about the true lives and legacy of Tejanos. 

The Student Contest is primarily a Coloring Contest. In honor of Tejano Heritage Month, TexasTejano.com is hosting our “Celebrate Tejano Heritage” Coloring Contest. This contest is open to ALL students (from Kindergarten to 5th grade) in the state of Texas. Students are asked to color the image. The final image size should be 8.5″ by 11″.

Students can be as creative as they want and can add any extra material (i.e. glitter, glue, stickers, etc.) that they would like. Crayons, markers and colored pencils are acceptable. Students entering the contest must use a cover page with their entry to include their name, grade, school name and address, and contact phone number.

Contestants will be broken into three categories by age: K-1, 2-3, 4-5; First, Second and Third Place Winners will be selected in each category. Honorable Mention winners will be awarded based on the decision of the judges. The contest ends on October 31, 2011 All entries must be postmarked by October 31, 2011 Award Ceremony for first place winners will be held on November 5, 2010 at a location TBD in San Antonio.
