1860 Polly’s Fort

Architecture | Photographs |

In 1859, Jose Policarpio “Polly” Rodriguez constructed a 4,000 square foot home out of liestone. As a surveyor, he was able to plot his land and design his house as any modern day archtect would. “The Fort” as it was affectionately called by Polly's friends and family, included gun ports all around the house for he and his family to go to protect the homestead from hostile natives.
