We are proud to share that our partners at the Texas Historical Commission and the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission will be hosting their 10th annual Real Places Conference on April 8–10, 2026, in Austin, Texas!

A Conference Built for Preservation and Community

Real Places is a statewide gathering for historians, preservationists, educators, nonprofits, community leaders, and cultural advocates who work to promote and preserve Texas history.

Attendees can look forward to expert-led sessions, expanded tours, networking opportunities, and new collaborative experiences designed to uplift historic preservation efforts throughout Texas, including Native Tejano heritage.

Texas Tejano Will Be There

We are excited to share that Texas Tejano will be participating with a table at the conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with our team and learn more about our programs and current initiatives and goals. We look forward to connecting with advocates who share our commitment to championing Texas history.

Why This Matters for Tejano Heritage

Preserving real places means preserving real stories and people, and many Tejano landmarks and legacies still require visibility and advocacy. By participating in the Real Places Conference, we help ensure that Tejano history is acknowledged, preserved, and elevated within statewide preservation efforts.
