2013 Tejano Heritage Month
Texas Tejano.com, a San Antonio-based research, publishing, and communications firm, is proud to partner this year with the Hispanic Heritage Center of Texas, a new non profit whose mission is to champion Hispanic heritage and legacy, are proud to announce that the month of September has been designated Tejano Heritage Month by the State of Texas, Bexar County and City of San Antonio.
Created to bring awareness and education about the true contributions and lives of Tejano pioneers, the events of Tejano Heritage Month vary from historic commemorations to educational, governmental, community and religious activities. The message and mission is to educate, elevate and celebrate the lives and legacies of Tejanos. We also thank this year's sponsors; A.L.M.A. (Alamo Legacy & Missions Association), Citi, City of San Antonio, EPI Electrical Enclosures & Engineering, Oak Farms Dairy and Valero.
The Hispanic Heritage Center of Texas is a San Antonio based 501.c.3 non-profit whose mission is to champion historical Hispanic legacy and heritage from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. Unfortunately, little is known about Tejanos and their contributions and accomplishments in early Texas. The Center is proud to lead the way to champion our ancestor’s history.
Also, the Texas Tejano.com Student Awards Program, featuring a coloring, essay and poster contest, will be open to grade school, middle school and high school students throughout the state!
