Saenz De San Antonio, Matias

Tejanos |

       SÁENZ DE SAN ANTONIO, MATÍAS (?–1754). Fray Matías Sáenz de San Antonio was a member of the Holy Gospel Province of Mexico City before 1707. He entered the missionary College of Guadalupe de Zacatecas shortly after it was founded in 1707 and was one of the Zacatecan missionaries who went to Texas with the Ramón expedition in 1716. After serving two years at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de los Nacogdoches Mission, he was sent by Fray Antonio Margil de Jesús to Mexico City in 1718.
