Gomez Raposo, Luis

       GÓMEZ RAPOSO, LUIS (?–?). As pilot of the frigate Santo Cristo de San Román, Luis Gómez Raposo kept the diary of the third maritime expedition sent from Veracruz to search for René Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle. His account of the 1687 voyage commanded by Francisco López de Gamarra and Andrés de Pez y Malzárragaqqv was long hailed as the most important document of the maritime search.
