        DELGADO, ANTONIO (?–?). Antonio Delgado, a lieutenant in the forces of the Gutiérrez-Magee expedition, removed Manuel María de Salcedo, Spanish governor of Texas, and members of his staff from prison under pretense of escorting them to Matagorda Bay, where they would be placed on board vessels bound for New Orleans. On April 5, 1813, a mile south of San Antonio Delgado and his troops murdered the prisoners.
